Why Geophysics Before Drilling Saves More Than It Costs

Resistivity surveying converts borehole siting from a gamble into an engineering decision with predictable yield.

Dry or low-yield boreholes are almost always a siting failure rather than a drilling failure. Vertical electrical sounding and profiling identify aquifer thickness and overburden character before a rig mobilises.

A survey that costs a fraction of the drilling budget routinely prevents an abandoned hole, and produces a depth-to-aquifer estimate that lets the driller select casing and screen intervals correctly the first time.

For estates, plants and rural water schemes, that difference is the gap between a working supply and a repeated capital loss.
